About the Author

     David Shanks is a lifelong resident of Washington County, Tennessee.  David trusted the Lord Jesus Christ at 27 years of age.  David is a conservative Christian and Baptist who has taught Sunday school for over 30 years and served as a lay speaker on numerous occasions.

     David is married to Pamila Deakins.  David and Pam were married in 1976.  Their two children, Rachel Renee and John David, teach in Greene County.

 

     With 25 years of service, David retired from the Alliance for Business & Training, Inc., where he served as Executive Director for eight years.  David previously worked as a school teacher, manufacturing supervisor, and economic development council director. He was raised on a farm and continues to farm part time.  The author is a county commissioner in Washington County.
